ETC recognizes the filmmaker John Cabrera in the World Theater Day

29 March 2013 - 00: 00

The director of photography and very close to Dénia, John Cabrera, was recognized on the World Day of Theater by the Escola de Teate Comarcal, which, like every year, celebrated the anniversary on school premises with the attendance of a hundred people.

This year, the organization decided to recognize the work of John Cabrera, the famous director of photography whose union with Dénia brought to the city filming of Hollywood blockbusters as "Captain Jones." For health reasons Cabrera could not pick up his prize, and two connoisseurs of cinema in Dénia, such as Toni Reig and Miquel Crespo, did so on their behalf. To reig, if John Cabrera had done half of the promotion of the United Kingdom that made Dénia, Queen Isabel would have named him "Sir John Cabrera", recognizing the important work of promoting the city as a film scene in the golden years of Hollywood .

This year, the actor Tonino Guitián was in charge of reading the World Theater Day manifesto, which this year was given by Dario Fo. Guitián was accompanied on stage by the director of the school, Mario Passero; the youth councilor, Isabel Gallego, and the teachers of the ETC of Dénia, Pedreguer and teulada.

And in the celebration of World Theater Day, all schools participated with small pieces of all kinds that entertained throughout the night to the large audience that gathered at the ETC facilities.
