The duration of the TRAM journey between Dénia and Alacant is extended to 3 hours and a half after less than 3 weeks of life

February 03 from 2023 - 09: 41

The TRAM trip between the two most distant stations, the one in Dénia and the one in Alacant, has always had a reputation for being extremely long. Something that they have not tried to hide at any time and about which jokes have been made in interventions by the administration. It's fun, but not so much for those who need this public service.

All official communications since the service was presented already assumed that between Dénia and Alacant - Luceros the trip lasted three hours. To be exact, as it is still announced today on the TRAM website, it requires an investment of 181 minutes, something that few people can afford. However, it is quite far from reality.

The train journey leaving Dénia and arriving at the Luceros station reached 211 minutes this Thursday. That is, more than three and a half hours. This could be provisional, since an extra transfer and of which not much echo has been done lengthens the journey. For several weeks, or months, a major project in Benidorm causes an improvised bus connection between its two stations to be used, a service that leaves every hour and does not usually coincide with the arrival of the Line 1 train, between Alicante and the city of Marina Baixa.

However, with all the punctual transfers to your appointment, the trip has already reached the aforementioned three and a half hours, a duration that could be the norm until the works in Benidorm are completed.

    Another Timo Puig scam.

I get to Alicante before that stinky diesel thing by:: car, motorbike, moped, bus, taxi, bla bla car, electric motorbike, electric moped, electric bike, racing bike, quad, motocross, electric scooter and on horseback .

Province without railways, like a hundred years ago; now, tourism all you want. An ecological disaster, in addition, everything with a car

  4. Pepe says:

When the works on the Barranc del Quisi viaduct are finished, the journey will be reduced by half an hour. Now they are doing the remodeling of the Benidorm station. They are all improvements. It is a suburban or tram service, do not wait for a bird.

    100 km. Three and a half hours…..
But who does that train serve?
    Only retirees and idle tourists.
    Another scandal in sight.
They should consider making express schedules so that people can use it (students, workers, etc.)

Well, it suits me well, especially for my daughter who studies in Benidorm. It is known that it is 1h between cat to Benidorm. But the family savings in terms of what gasoline currently costs? And the displacement of parents to pick up their children? It is clear that for those who intend to make a leisure trip, then 3'30 is really precious time. But for the workers it is a saving.

Without “idle tourists and pensioners” many people would not have work in Denia – think about it!!! However the money wasted on this tram/train is obscene
