The Valencian Community has registered 772 new coronavirus infections confirmed by PCR test since the last update, which puts the total number of positives at 20.770 people. By province, the distribution is as follows: 94 in Castellón (2.371 in total); 209 in the province of Alicante (6.524 in total); and 469 in the province of Valencia (11.854 in total). In addition, there are 21 other unassigned cases.
The Ministry insists that the figures reflect the effectiveness of the health system in the early detection of new infections and in the tracking of all contacts, but the health alert persists and you cannot lower your guard.
"I ask everyone for caution and common sense. The incessant increase in the number of infections clearly indicates that all prudence is little. If all of us do our part, we will be able to face the virus with greater force", said the Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló.
The Valencian Community is the fifth autonomous region where the cumulative incidence rate in the last 14 days is lower, behind Andalusia, Asturias, Extremadura and Galicia, since this rate stands at 89,41 per 100.000 inhabitants, while the rate The average cumulative incidence in Spain is 173,14 per 100.000 inhabitants.
On the other hand, 345 patients with coronavirus have been discharged, so the total number of people cured since the start of the pandemic stands at 23.299: 3.012 in Castellón, 7.467 in Alicante and 12.790 in Valencia. In addition, there is 1 unassigned discharge, which brings the total unassigned discharge to 30.
Valencian hospitals currently have 331 people admitted: 20 in the province of Castellón, with 3 patients in ICU; 91 in the province of Alicante, 13 of them in the ICU; and 220 in the province of Valencia, 22 of them in ICU.
Thus, there are currently 4.413 cases active, representing 15,11% of the total positives.
On the other hand, there have been 4 deaths from coronavirus since the last update, so the total number of deaths amounts to 1.502 people: 227 in the province of Castellón, 519 in that of Alicante and 756 in that of Valencia.
The total number of tests carried out for the detection of the coronavirus amounts to 764.596, of which 624.550 have been through PCR and 140.046 through rapid tests.
Updating the situation in residences
At the moment, 75% of the residences in the Valencian Community where cases have been detected have a single positive, of a resident or worker.
There are some positive cases in 38 nursing homes for the elderly (3 in the province of Castellón, 15 in the province of Alicante and 20 in the province of Valencia), 6 residences for people with functional diversity (2 in the province of Castellón, 1 in the province of Alicante and 3 in Valencia) and 4 centers for minors (1 in the provinces of Castellón and 3 in the province of Valencia).
