Dénia manages to reduce its outstanding debt to 10 million euros in 2023, 20 million less than in 2015

Dénia manages to reduce the outstanding debt to 10 million in 2023, assuming a difference of 20 million less than what it presented in 2015, which was 30 million. This was announced this Wednesday by the Councilor for Economic Services, Paco Roselló, and the spokespersons for the government groups, Maria Josep Ripoll (PSPV) Y Rafa Carrió (Compromís) at a press conference on the settlement of the 2023 budget.

«When left-wing progressive parties govern, they manage the economy very well and we manage the resources we have efficiently and sustainably. Unfortunately there have been few until now. What we are presenting today are accounts and not stories," said Rafa Carrió.

Paco Roselló has reported that in 2023 the government achieved an initial surplus of 2 million euros (11 million adjusted surplus), which arises from expenses of 73.816.127 euros and income of 75.973.251. The councilor has highlighted the reduction of the initial budget for expenses on supplies, energy and electricity of 558.599 euros, with a final execution budget of 1,9 million.

Also noteworthy is the increase in the planned expenditure on amortization, which rises from almost 2 million euros to 5 million in execution.

Regarding income, the increase in the budget from the planned 720.000 euros to 1 million due to the occupancy rate stands out. In addition, Roselló has exposed the existence of a remainder for general expenses of 20 million.

City Council Investments

For her part, Maria Josep Ripoll has reported that part of those 20 million euros will be allocated, among other projects, to the rehabilitation of Torrecremada. "The works began in December 2021, but suffered a series of vicissitudes, such as discoveries from archaeological excavations and the state of ruin and aging of the building," indicated the councilor.

Ripoll has stated that these inconveniences have exceeded the planned cost of 2 million euros of investment by 26%, so now the City Council intends to invest another 630.000 to complete the works. In addition, they have 200.000 euros of Next Generation funds to, once the rehabilitation is completed, equip the building and use it as a university headquarters.

The spokesperson has also announced that another 80.000 euros will be allocated to renew the Les Bassetes park. In addition, 170.000 have been allocated to the renovation of the Paseo de la Marineta Casiana and a renovation of sidewalks on Paseo de Saladar for a total of 140.000 euros to "improve accessibility for the elderly." A greater allocation has also been given to the "Vacation for all" work-life balance projects by 20.000 euros, the same amount for classrooms for the elderly.

Rafa Carrió has commented that, in the cultural part, 6.400 euros have been allocated to the edition of a children's story by Maria Ibars. In terms of education, the CEIP Les Vessanes patio will be renovated for 120.000 euros. There will also be a conditioning of a sports court in Madrigueres for 150.000 euros.

Furthermore, the largest investment is destined for the Santa Llúcia residence, around 1,5 million, a competence that is intended to be transferred to the Generalitat, but which is still up in the air, according to the councilor.

On the other hand, it is intended to make an investment in health and safety, installing fire alarms and defibrillators in public places and buildings. "What investments do is bet on economic recovery and bet on the projects necessary to improve people's lives," Carrió concluded.

Wonderful, but it could be reduced a little less and used to reform the Les Marines road, which is disgraceful, without sidewalks, broken bollards (las Brisas) in a wheelchair, it would be better not to go out, extremely dangerous due to the speed at which many vehicles travel, dirty, etc... and another little bit for the beach, without wood, footbaths that don't work, etc... of course the dune signs will be very good when there are dunes? Everything fantastic, sticking out your chest

Paco Roselló is the only true professional in the city council executive and until now he has always done his job well. But they could be a little more modest when making this comment: “When left-wing progressive parties govern, they manage the economy very well and we manage the resources we have efficiently and sustainably.” Simply because it is not usually like that. The usual thing is to waste money and steal money, as all Spaniards are seeing with the current government.
Good job Paco. I wish those who manage public funds were as responsible as you.

  3. Juan Collado says:

This is not commented on by the Pepafont bots. Carmona, Elle (pardon the redundancy), nothing to say?

  4. Juan Collado says:

Isn't Pepa Font and her fachapalmeros coming out to comment on this? Carmona, where are you, I can't see you?
