The Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana has awarded several grants to the Municipal Public Library of Dénia, the total amount of which amounts to 53.622,37 euros.
The most numerous has been the one received for the acquisition of bibliographic material, which has been 27.418,96 euros. The grant awarded represents 100% of the expenditure on bibliographic material made by the Municipal Network of Public Libraries of Dénia between April 6, 2019 and July 6, 2020. Dénia has been the third municipality in the Valencian Community that most money has received from this line of aid, behind Alzira and Castelló. In addition, as established by the rules of the call, 30% of this amount had to be allocated to the purchase of material in the Valencian language.
For the acquisition of furniture and computer equipment, the Library of Dénia has received a grant of 17.409,30 euros, the second highest in the Community after the city of Valencia.
This subsidy represents 50% of the spending on equipment made by the Municipal Network of Public Libraries of Dénia between April 27, 2019 and July 16, 2020, the deadline for submitting documentation.
Finally, the Ministry has awarded in Dénia a grant for activities to promote reading in libraries of 8.894,11 euros. This amount represents 50% of the expenditure on reading promotion activities carried out between April 17, 2019 and July 16, 2020. As in the grant to acquire bibliographic material, the granting of this aid was linked to the programming of activities in the Valencian language.
I am very happy for the Library, congratulations to the management, to LLucia and his team, I leave them much more value in their work than to the government team, since they all throw away the medals of the work of others. Many times they have not been able to replace workers in the Baix la Mar Library and it has had to close due to not hiring staff. The treatment and facilities are nice.
