Vicent GrimaltMayor of Dénia held a first meeting with the Regional Secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, after the appointment of Dénia as Creative City of Gastronomy of Unesco.
The mayor has informed Colomer of the next meeting of the Consell adviser and editor of the Dianense candidacy in which the first actions to develop will begin to be outlined, and he has asked for the involvement of the Generalitat Valenciana to carry them out.
Taking advantage of the visit to Dénia in which the CDT Dénia Advisory Council, Colomer, visited the cetacean and seabird observatory located at the end of the beach of Les Rotes. He was accompanied by Vicent Grimalt and by Josep Crespo, Mayor of the Environment.

An observatory that has been co-financed by the Valencian Tourism Agency and the Department of the Environment of the municipality of Dénia. It is the first of these characteristics that exists in the Mediterranean.
It consists of a panel with information and images about the species that can be seen from this point of the Dianense coast - whales, dolphins, turtles and seabirds. The images are accompanied by a QR code with which visitors can directly access the Oceanographic website and record the sightings by filling in a file.
Also on this website will appear more detailed information, photographs and videos of the species. A parking space for people with mobility difficulties has also been set up on its site.
The coordinator of the environmental-marine and fisheries Municipal Service, Toni Martínez said during the visit that the geographical situation, together with other factors makes Denia is a strategic step of cetaceans and birds place, so this point observation is unique and one of the most sightings recorded.
Since the beginning of the year there have been sightings of common rorcuar 33 and 100 over dolphins.
