The opening of the exhibition, José María Morera. "A man of the theater, a man of culture" which took place in the Center d'Art L'Estacio He had a grand opening. With Morera, the Councilor for Culture, Pepa SiveraJesús Huguet, secretary of the Consell Valencià de Cultura José Ramón Aguirre, set designer, Josep Palomero, member of the Valencian Academy of the Language and Rosa Seser, Municipal archivist and coordinator of the sample.

Sivera recalled the history of José María Morera, who was born in Valencia and some years living in Ondara. In 1961 he joined the company of Núria Espert and 1964, residing in Madrid, he begins to run their own shows.

Morera developed an intense career as a pioneer in the premiere in Spain of that time works as "The physical"Friedrich Dürrenmatt (1964) or"Complaisant lover"Graham Greene (1968). It was also the first Spanish director to release the only opera composed by a woman, "vinatea"Matilde Salvador, with text by Xavier Casp.

After leaving the theater direction in 1986, Morera returned to Valencia and began a period during which he held various institutional positions: director of the Municipal Film Foundation, responsible for the Mostra Film Mediterrani Valencia, CEO of Artistic Heritage and Cultural promotion of the Generalitat Valenciana and member of the Consell Valencià de Cultura, until November 2011.

His career is marked with the most important awards given in the Spanish scene, such as the National Award for Management, who won twice (1969 and 1972) Critics Awards or the Gold Medal for best direction theater Awards Ciudad de Valladolid (1976).

Along the bottom material, the exhibition shows through eleven photographs and text panels of the life and career of José María Morera: a look at three decades of Spanish theater and recognition of one of its main protagonists.
