09 June 2020 - 12: 55

The Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Gloria Calero, and the sub-delegate in Alicante, Araceli Poblador, have visited, together with a delegation from the Dénia City Council, the situation of the recovery works of the beaches Township.

Calero has pointed out that the reason for his visit was to review the status of these works and to be sure that in July the province can continue offering safe tourism to enjoy the beaches as it was done until now. "This is one of the favorite beaches of many inland people who have the pleasure of enjoying in the summer and relaxing. What better place than these impressive beaches?"

The Government delegate has confirmed that everything will be ready to start the high season on July 1 in Dénia, where they certify that it will be a safe place for tourism.

For these recovery works after the storm GloriaDénia received 205.000 euros from the Government to carry out the work with a view not only to the present, but also to the future. "Regarding the environment, every day it is more necessary to think about today and tomorrow. It is repairing itself in a very dignified and above all very natural way. It is giving back to the sea what is its own"Calero stressed.

The Calvary of Les Deveses

El temporary glory, that the Dianense coast suffered at the end of last January, it was especially hard on the already punished Les Deveses beach. In it, many of the houses suffered considerable damage, where the waves came to enter the homes.

Regarding the situation of this long-suffering beach, the delegate has indicated that Costas is going to do what corresponds to it and the neighbors will have to do the same. However, the latter must carry out the work, mostly retaining walls, within the standards that Costas frames.

  1. María Ibars says:

It was during the socialist dictatorships of Felipe González and Zapatero, when more land was stolen from the sea.
Hundreds of Thousands of houses like those of Víctor Manuel, Ana Belén and people of the eyebrow were fattened against the sea, building their mansions.
    Stop fooling people.

  2. Xavi says:

The sea has not caused any damage. It is the cement that has stolen what is his from the sea.

Building in the dunes, on the beaches, on the rocks ... is not free. Rajoy gave 75 more years of extension to the cement that occupies the public land. Let him and all the caciques who filled their pockets with the brick pay the expropriations.

Not even 1 euro of public money to throw it into the sea. More storms will come and he will return to dictate his law. If they had respected nature, they would not be lamenting now.

    • Miranda says:

In the Blay beach area walls have been made while confinement. They are the ones collapsed by the storm, and the owners were told the obligation to set back the wall. Well, they have built it, and a very high and thick wall. We hope that the city council will throw away that illegality. And if not, the ministry will already do so, with the current coastal law.

  3. Fernando says:

In the work where a small wall is being made, the reinforcement of the wall has been turned upside down. Who directs the works?
