GdD presents a motion to improve appointment services for citizens in general and for older people and people with functional diversity in particular

09 March 2023 - 12: 27

The municipal group of Gent of Dénia will present a motion to the Plenary to request various official bodies to improve appointment services for the public in general and for the elderly and people with functional diversity in particular.

According to the proposal, in recent times the provision of customer service in various agencies has been reduced dramatically, which has been aggravated by digitization and mainly by the pandemic. This has resulted in a substantial deterioration in the appointment services offered by organizations such as the INSS, SEPE or the Ministry of the Interior for DNI or passport.

The motion highlights that many people spend days on end calling or trying to get an appointment online, not realizing that they only have a few minutes in a day. In addition, "the lack of civil service is the excuse that is being given to justify this nonsense, according to the officials themselves."

For this reason, Gent de Dénia affirms that the proposal seeks to express the discomfort of the citizenry and require those responsible for each of the specified agencies to provide an immediate solution "to the serious situation of defenselessness suffered by people who need to carry out procedures with the administration".

The proposal also seeks to notify the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and the parliamentary groups of the Valencian Parliament so that this proposal can be extended to all those municipalities that want to support it to sensitize those responsible for the corresponding bodies about this alleged serious problem of management.

I fully agree with this motion after spending hours calling Social Security offices and also at 9 o'clock without success –
