The UNED Dénia summer courses end with the participation of 400 students

The course, organized by UNED Benidorm and which has had the promotion of the Benidorm City Council, was presented by Mr. Jaume Tortosa, Secretary of the CA UNED Dénia and Coordinator of University Extension, who emphasized the effort made by both the organization and the and the assistants thanking all parties; the Benidorm Councilor for Education, Dª. Maite Moreno, who expressly congratulated the course; and its director and Professor of Psychology at UNED Mr. Andrés LópezdelaLlave.

The day opened with the workshop "How to provoke positive emotions" by Mª Carmen Pérez-Llantada Rueda, Professor of Psychology at UNED. Mª Carmen Pérez-Llantada highlighted that “Positive emotions have as a characteristic that they can be learned throughout life. This learning is essential for people's well-being and health (…) and music plays a very important role in it ”.

After the workshop, a presentation was made on “Relevant psychological variables in artistic and musical interpretation” by Andrés LópezdelaLlave Rodríguez, Course Director and Professor of Psychology at UNED, who explained how music can be seen as part of the background of numerous behaviors “There are many psychological tools that can help musicians and musicians in their creative, interpretive or teaching activity. These tools (...) have been of special interest and application in the contexts of musical performance and in the educational process of musical learning. "

The morning of the second day began with the conference "Understanding the emotions" by Basilio Fernández Morante, Professor of Conservatory and Psychologist. Basilio Fernández spoke of how to identify emotions in music, and the complexity that this implies depending on the genre in question, with the ultimate goal of discovering emotions and music as means capable of expressing deep messages from the human soul.
The first part of the day ended with the exhibition “Musical Education in Infant and Primary before and after confinement” by Rafael Cárcel Más, music teacher who offered a vision of his activity in the extensive experience prior to confinement; the surprise and adaptation to the period "I stay at home", and some notes of anticipation in case the same situation of limitation that we have experienced occurs again.

In the afternoon there was a presentation "Psychology and coaching in music" by Francisco de Paula Ortiz Ruiz, Course Coordinator, Psychologist and Piano Teacher at the Conservatory of Seville. Francisco Paula Ortiz, through analysis and cognitive debate with exercises and open questions, explored the processes that, from the psychology of coaching, can be deployed in the context of music and analyzed how, through these processes, a student or professional can of music getting to know yourself better in relation to your instrument, the needs generated at a specific moment in your musical and personal development, knowing how to set goals or objectives based on your priorities, knowing how to work on concepts such as motivation, self-concept musical, self-confidence, emotion management, etc.

The second day concluded with the presentation “Music and global perception. The relationship between music, image and sensory abstraction ”by Jorge G. Gosálvez Gosálvez, UNED Senior Professor who highlighted" It is very important that, even during the stay in the mother's womb, the baby has contact with sensorially positive sounds like music, voices, songs, to enable, from that basic perceptual state, that your brain begin to work and transform the first possible stimuli that it receives. ”

The third and last day of the course has started with the lecture by Laura Moral Bofill, Conservatory Professor and Psychologist, "Teaching to enjoy from learning and musical performance" who has studied in depth how to promote musical learning to promote their development of In a harmonious and intrinsically motivating way, also talking about the theory of fluency (Flow) and highlighting that “achieving a state of fluency is related to creativity, a better quality and experience of interpretation, motivation, improvement of competence and an expansion of individual capacities. ”

The day concluded with the round table "Practical experiences of psychology and music" with Laura Moral Bofill, Professor of Conservatory and Psychologist, Francisco de Paula Ortiz Ruiz, Professor of Conservatory and Psychologist, and Basilio Fernández Morante, Professor of Conservatory and Psychologist. The table has focused on analyzing, on the one hand, how psychology can be applied in music education classrooms in the case of students with special educational needs, the diversity of cases that are presented, the different teaching contexts, and generation as a consequence of this, some guidelines that can help teachers. Secondly, music has been discussed as therapy inside and outside the classroom, as well as therapeutic aspects of music since the development of certain procedures to stimulate cognitive and executive functions.

This activity ends the programming of the CA UNED Summer Courses 2020 in which the academic training has taken place: "Breastfeeding" (UNED Xàbia), “Unraveling the addicted brain” (UNED Dénia), “Music in the key of PSI: Psychology and Music” (UNED Benidorm).

With around 400 students, this has been a year that has demanded high flexibility and responsiveness to the uncertainty arising from the Covid-19 context and that CA UNED Dénia has successfully circumvented by betting to continue present in a constant way in our environment and offering the interested public the possibility of having courses that have a great tradition.
Open the enrollment period between July 7 and October 22 for 28 Degrees, 11 Combined Degrees, 79 Master's degrees and Access to University at CA UNED Dénia and its classrooms in Xàbia and Benidorm.
