The wind leaves multiple injured and rescued people who have been transferred to the hospital in one of the hardest days for rescuers

August 15 from 2021 - 22: 23

The heat wave and strong gusts of wind have starred today, in which many people have chosen to park their street plans and stay safe in their homes following the recommendations. However, Red Cross first responders cannot afford even a day of rest, being needed more than ever when conditions are more extreme. This has been demonstrated today through multiple assistances to bathers who have dared to spend a day at the beach.

Along the 20 kilometers of the Dianense coast, lifeguards from different points have had to jump into the water to help people who needed help. The wind has caused bathers to wish them to return to shore. In Marines, at 18:30, and at The Bovetes, 19:30, they have intervened in multiple rescues to remove people who lost their strength fighting unsuccessfully against the wind. In the case of Bovetes, it was people practicing paddle surfing.

At the same time, 19:30 p.m., the managers of the Almadrava and Deveses they threw themselves at another victim with drowning symptoms that floated on his board of, also, paddle surf. This has been rushed to Denia hospital. At the same time, at other points in Les Deveses, lifeguards were helping other surfers out.

It has not been the only danger that the wind has brought. The gusts of hurricane air have knocked down several proximity chairs (the lifeguards' surveillance chairs) injuring different people. In l'Almadrava the chair has caused a head trauma to a person who has had to be transferred to the hospital. At the same time, in Punta del Raset, one of the chairs has also fallen, injuring the lifeguard, who had to be immobilized with spinal board and transferred to hospital. Got off because I don't know sentíto safety and, as soon as he stepped on the ground, the chair fell on his back, so they had to go quickly to attend to him, requiring the help of basic life support to transfer him to the hospital since the Red Cross ambulance was in another urgency.

In addition to this, throughout the day they have had to attend to various people who have suffered from heat stroke and many of them have had to be transferred to the hospital.

A hard day that has been even more so at the beach. Luckily, the Dénia Red Cross lifeguards have more than demonstrated that while they are, our coast is a little safer.

Understanding the time for another day, even if there was a hurricane, they would go out for a walk and have a barbecue
