The municipal budget of Dénia increases by one million euros for 2018 and stands at more than 53 million

Dénia has already prepared the budgets that will govern the municipal accounts during 2018. This year, the document amounts to a total of 53.002.605'54 euros, which means 1.096.910'13 euros more than in 2017.

This increase is due to the increase in current transfers and capital transfers, mainly from the Generalitat Valenciana and the Diputación de Alicante, as well as to reduce the pressure of the urban planning agreements signed after unfavorable judgments for the City of Dénia .

The Deputy Mayor of Dénia, Rafa CarrióAnd the Councilor for Finance, Paco Roselló, have shelled the details of the municipal budget, which will be approved in an extraordinary plenary session on Thursday, March 15, at 8: 30 hours.

Exit of the Adjustment Plan

Both have coincided in highlighting that the budget of 2018 "It is the result of the economic policy that we started at 2015 and that will allow us to leave the Economic Adjustment Plan". This exit, which if everything goes well will be effective by the end of the year, will allow the city to dedicate the remainder of the next budgets to financially sustainable investments, something that it can not do now. While we are within the Adjustment Plan, the remainder is used to amortize the outstanding debt.

3.800.000 euros for real investments

With a gross saving of 7'5 millions of euros it will be possible, in addition to amortizing 3'9 millions in loans, allocate a total of 3.800.000 euros to the chapter of real investments.

Of those 3'8 millions, 1.430.000 will be used to pay agreements. The rest will go to "Investments in municipal heritage and conditioning public spaces". In this sense, Carrió outlined some of the investments contemplated in this year's budget:

  • Roundabout on Diana Street with Joan Fuster Avenue: 241.628 €
  • Energy and environmental improvements: 66.000 euros
  • Opening of the passage in Pintor Llorens: 225.000 €
  • Repair of the lift of the Reading Agency Baix la Mar: €32.000
  • Conditioning and furniture of the building of the C / San José: 50.000 €
  • Conditioning and furniture of the building of the Old Market: 25.000 €
  • Rehabilitation of the Verger Alt of the Castle: €80.000 (of the total of €316.000 financed with ERDF funds)
  • Walkways and adaptation of the castle: 30.000 €
  • City Hall Elevator: 60.000 €
  • Modernization of computer systems: 130.000 €
  • Improvements in the Multipurpose Room of Llunàtics: 68.000 €
  • Maintenance work in the facilities of the Nursing Home: 140.000 €

In addition, this section includes the projects of the Participatory Budgets:

  • Creation of a biosaludable area in Baix la Mar-Darrere (23.000 euros)
  • Creation of a biosaludable area in the La Faroleta-Diana neighborhood (23.000 euros)
  • Parc Street Workout and calisthenics in Marines (20.000 euros)
  • Adequacy of the Montgó Scientific Station (22.000 euros)
  • Placement of banks and bins on the Avenida de Alicante (13.095,23 euros)
  • Mirrors security at crossings of Paris Pedrera-Camp Roig (544,5 euros)
  • Bicycle parking at the end of Marqués de Campo (1.101 euros)
  • Renovation of sidewalks in Les Roques (6.500 euros)
  • Asphalting of Camí Badía and Carrer Ió (Les Rotes) (14.086,56 euros)
  • Asphalted of the Paseo del Saladar (16.706 euros)

These investments will be possible thanks to the contributions of different subsidies from the Generalitat Valenciana and the Provincial Council of Alicante.

Lower financial expense and increase the budget in the personnel chapter

In the 2018 budgets, the reduction of the chapter destined to financial expenses in 1.615.000 euros stands out, assigning a total of $840.000 to this section during the next year.

Meanwhile, Chapter I, of Personnel Expenses, is increased by 400.000 euros, which will be used in part to increase the municipal staff in 11 people. This section represents the 34,8% of the municipal budget, amounting to 18.443.005'86 euros.

In this sense, the City Council values ​​that "We have changed the previous policy, which was dedicated to download the adjustment and savings on the backs of workers".

In the chapter of current expenses, to which they are destined 20.839.468'99 euros, the renovation of the athletics track of the Municipal Sports Center and the turf of the football field Rodat, some works that will amount to 90.000 euros.

The collection of direct taxes decreases sensibly

In the income section, the City Council plans to enter a total of 26.240.142'68 euros, what supposes an 49'51% of the budget, by Direct Taxes. In 2017, the City Council collected in this same section a total of 26.816.302,77 euros, 516.000 euros less. In the section of Indirect Taxes, the City Council has budgeted an income of 900.000 euros, almost 300.000 euros more than in 2017.

The different municipal taxes will provide income from 12.137.058'63 euros in 2018, an 22'9% of the planned total. As for current transfers, Dénia will enter $12.583.760 this year. The patrimonial income, for the rent of municipal spaces, will contribute $444.000.

Finally, the councilor of Finance has remarked that at the end of 2018, the financial debt of the consistory will be 15.000.000 euros.

The government team has stressed that, with this budget, "we comply with the rules of budgetary stability, spending and indebtedness rule", and it is also met "with the objective of budgeting investments and including a heading for the realization of participatory budgets".
