The highlight of the plenary session that took place in the Dénia town hall was the approval of the file to name Enrique Oltra Perales, popularly known as "Father Oltra" as the adopted son of the city. An approval that had its moments of suspense after the vote in which the Center Unificat and Party voted in favour, while the groups in the PSOE y Compromís they voted against and the spokeswoman for Citizens abstained.
At first, this approval was denied because the mayor thought that it should be unanimously. Once consulted the regulation for these issues, the secretary clarified that it was enough that it was by majority. Therefore, the appointment file was approved.
The Padre Oltra adds to the list of people who have this recognition, among which are, among others, Diego Mena, Quique Dacosta or José Ricardo Ortega.
The plenary began with the reading by the mayor of Social Welfare, Pepa Sivera a manifesto of revulsion against gender violence. Then he held a respectful minute of silence in memory of the two recently killed in this December women.
One of the motions presented by the Popular Party to show support for savers affected by the issue of Philatelic Forum went ahead despite the vote against the Socialists and the abstention of Unificat Center since Compromís and citizens supported the motion.
