This weekend has taken place one of the most anticipated dates for Valencians and Valencians, the celebration of the Nou d'Octubre to commemorate our day. For this reason, Dénia was filled with celebrations, from the most formal to the purely festive, so the Dianenses took to the streets to celebrate this appointment in a thousand ways.
In the morning the traditional events of Compromís, in the Jaume I square, and the commemorative act of the Dénia City Council, in the Castilo. In this first, the Valencian formation, represented by maria jose garcia, The council Rafa Carrió and the deputy Josep Nadal, claimed and celebrated "our identity, our culture and what makes us unique." «We do it in the traditional way, here in the square where
Every year we hold parliaments and an act of our own, differentiating ourselves from institutional acts. "
The institutional act to which they referred was held shortly before, first thing in the morning, in a limited event in the castle. All the municipal groups with representation in the town hall participated in it, whose representatives took over the lectern to give their Nou d'Octubre speeches, highlighting the vision of the Valencian identity of each one, taking the opportunity to claim the long-awaited train to Dénia , as in the case of PSPV and Compromís, the regeneration of beachesGent of Dénia, disseminating every aspect of Valencian and Dianense culture, as Ciudadanos was committed to, and insisting on seeking meeting points and understanding, as requested from the PP.
Also the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, who claimed the Valencian identity of a territory that accepts everyone equally, "Valencians on the right or on the left, even from the center", "Valencians who speak Valencian and Spanish or even Catalan", but throwing a poisoned dart to the most ultra formations: "the extremes, please, let's keep them well away, because they don't do us any good, but they can do a lot of harm." And, like the other representatives, he had time to dedicate a few words in relation to the current situation of the pandemic, highlighting that "(we Valencians) want to be free, happy, healthy and alive."
After the speeches, the Dénia Musical Artistic Group interpreted the hymn of the Valencian Community in the same place for those attending the celebration.
At the end of the event, Josep A. Gisbert, municipal archaeologist, and the doctor in Medieval History Abel Soler offered a talk and a tour of the castle, narrating how the conquest of the territory was lived in Dénia in the XNUMXth century and showing the different rooms of Jaume I in Dénia and the environment.
The streets of Dénia were also impregnated with the celebration thanks to the tour of Dianum Dansa through the center of the city, delighting residents and visitors with traditional Valencian dances.
At night, it was the turn to start the most musical celebrations, with a performance by Xavi Sarrià on the Torrecremada stage. The one who was a singer of the mythical group Obrint Pas played a wide repertoire interspersing audiovisual pieces that dealt with the Valencian struggles, before an absolute full of the venue.
Once the concert was over, the wick of the nocturnal mascletà was lit, enjoyed by both those attending the performance and the rest of the neighbors who deliberately approached the place.
