The rector of the University of Alicante, Amparo Navarro, met yesterday with Vicent Grimalt, mayor of Dénia, and with Melani Ivars, councilor of Education of the municipality, to agree what will be the master's and postgraduate studies that will be taught the new university faculty of Dénia in Torrecremada. As announced, these formations will be related to gastronomy, one of the strengths of the city.
Among others, the future campus will offer the new title of expert in Sustainable Gastronomic Tourism and Local Development. Addition IV specialist course in Culinary Science and Technology, Pairings, Rice and Mediterranean Haute Cuisine. Without a doubt, two very striking studies for the future promises of Valencian gastronomy.
On the university offer in Dénia, Navarro has considered: «A differentiated proposal with higher studies and aimed at innovation in all gastronomy processes from a multidisciplinary perspective that responds to the needs of one of the most important sectors of our territory ».
The new Dianense university campus will have its space in the Torrecremada estate, which is already undergoing rehabilitation works that will last 20 months. The budget of the new faculty amounts to 2.379.485 euros and is co-financed by the Dénia City Council and the Conselleria d'Universitats.
