The 71 Tronquet team leaves from Portal de la Marina to the Maroc Challenge with the car full of solidarity

23 March 2018 - 13: 27

The solidarity adventure of the team Tronquet 71 It has started this Friday morning. At the 12: 00, team members, Gaspar Ruiz and Vicente Ros, have left with their vehicle full of school supplies to Jumilla, where this afternoon will be carried out the verifications of the vehicles participating this year in the Maroc Challenge.

This rally, besides being a personal adventure, becomes a solidary challenge, since during the last weeks, and thanks to the collaboration of different schools in Dénia, Godella and Benirredrà, they have gathered tons of school materials, and also money, to distribute in the populations of that area.

Thus, during the six stages of this test, the team Tronquet 71 will deliver school supplies in the area between Erfoud, Boudnib, Merzouga, and the Hassi Lebied Association will deliver boxes of material and clothing that will be distributed in the most isolated areas of the Moroccan Atlas.

The Maroc Challenge is a very demanding event that this year consists of six stages with departure and arrival in Erfoud, in the south of the Moroccan desert, with days ranging between the 200 and the 450 daily kilometers. The team Tronquet 71 participate in the category Adventure, for vehicles with more than 16 years. As for the vehicle, this year they will drive a Toyota hdj 80.

Likewise, they will deliver medicines in the medical dispensary of Merzouga. This year, and thanks to the sponsorship of Portal de la Marina, the 71 Tronquet team will also be able to boost the economy of the area by buying school supplies in small shops in the region.

Help for Amin

This year, one of the biggest challenges is helping Amin, a six-year-old boy who has had hypoxia since birth, a disease that prevents him from walking well and developing normally. For him they have got a wheelchair and a device that allows him to stand.

The team has set itself the goal of finishing this demanding event and, if everything goes according to plan, next April 1 will be back in Spain.
