The Doctor Estivill says that sleep is more important than eating

Dr. Eduard Estivill, author of the book "Go to sleep kid" and Director of the Sleep Clinic Estivill and coordinator of the Sleep Unit of Hospital General de Catalunya gave an interesting talk on Friday afternoon at the Marina Health Hospital about sleep and its impact on the working day. Accompanied by the Managing Director of the Department of Health of Dénia, Ángel GiménezAnd President of the Foundation Lex Forum, Enrique Sastre, Estivill gave an overview of the most common disorders related to sleep and put on the table a Decalogue to sleep better:

. Take a hot bath before bed.
. Do not make copious dinner.
. Do not drink stimulants (coffee, coke, chocolate ...).
. Drink a glass of warm milk before bedtime.
. Physical exercise, but never in the hours before bedtime.
. Always keep the same habits before going to bed.
. Do not make intense intellectual effort before going to bed.
. Sleep in optimal environmental conditions (avoid excessive light and noise, maintain the correct temperature in the room, use a comfortable bed ...).
. Fulfill a regular schedule of getting in and out will help set our biological clock.
. Forget everyday worries before bedtime.

Estivill says that every time we sleep less and worse, without taking into account that sleep is a physiological need "an active state with hormonal, metabolic, temperature and biochemical changes essential for the proper functioning of the human being during the day".

    Many people hardly give importance to the need for a truly restorative dream, this doctor does well to remind us, although the problem is not sleeping well, not be satisfied with the 5 or 6 hours that many sleep, but try to reach 7 ls rigor and this with the stress that we have and in the times they run is not easy.
