With the aim of bringing the country to the rest of Europe, a group of economists, lawyers and Lithuanian businessmen traveling aboard the Gold of Lithuania to also encourage people to visit their country during the European Championship to be held from 31 August.
The crew members were received at City Hall by the Mayor, Ana KringeAnd the Councilor for International Relations, Marcela Server, to whom they have shown a letter from the mayor of Vilnius, capital of Lithuania, addressed to the towns that the ship is visiting and inviting all its citizens to know the country and its capital, famous for having housed for several Years diverse cultural events.
After this meeting, the group met with local entrepreneurs to establish a network of contacts that help foster Lithuanian culture and trade.
Since first set sail in 2009, the Gold of Lithuania has visited more than forty Mediterranean ports of countries like Israel, Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Cyprus and Egypt. The boat is a historical model, a Reliant 59, Lithuanian manufacturing.
