This morning, the City Council of Dénia has presented the 2020 budgets among which the broad heading for social purposes stands out.
With respect to the previous year, there is a noticeable increase in budgets, with 7'7 million more than in 2019, which represents a total of 61.436.479'72. Among other things, this is due to the revenue of the Plà Edificat (5'8 million euros), the € 500.000 increase in the collection of capital gains, an item of 623.366'5 euros from the Diputación de Alicante and thanks to the subsidy of the Generalitat of 300.000 euros in social action.
It is in this last point where a great change has been seen with respect to the previous years, since 10% of the total municipal budgets will go to services and social matters. "This is the most social budgets and committed to the citizens of Dénia's history", has announced the councilor for Equality and Inclusive Policies, Cristina Morera.
This also increases social service budgets by almost 10%, passing from 1.812 million in 2019 to 1.980 million. Among the most outstanding actions in this area, the promised specific item of equality is observed with € 76.000 for the execution of such policies, € 100.000 for the Municipal Occupation Plan for young people, women and the elderly, and an increase in assistance to fathers and mothers who take children from 0 to 3 years to a local nursery.
Also important is the increase in Home help service in an aged city like ours, which passes from € 130.000 to € 233.000. In addition, they will improve the services of the City Council with the incorporation of one more social worker for dependency and a social educator for the Valencian income of inclusion.
The youngest, as we have already mentioned, is one of the most benefited groups of these budgets, thanks to the investment of € 121.000 to improve their public spaces and the multi-purpose classroom. Also, in order to achieve the precious seal of Child-friendly city, a game has been prepared to develop the Pla d'Infancia of 15.000 €.
