One more year, and there are two consecutive ones, the Dianense Gaspar Ruíz joins the adventure of the Maroc Challenge, a charity rally that will be held in the month of April in the Moroccan desert. Last year, Ruiz participated in this adventure with Román Cholbi, managing to finish the tour and win the trophy for the Most Solidary Team.
This year, Gaspar will participate with Vicente Ros as co-pilot, and they have again as objective to finish each stage and on the way to distribute all the solidarity material in the schools of the small villages that they find. In addition, they will also collaborate with different associations in the area, such as the Associaton diabetiques Rich, Main dans la main or the Merzouga Health Center.
To achieve their goal, Gaspar and Vicente, who form the team Tronquet 71, they have personally taken care of the whole project. From the search for sponsors to training in the use of GPS and mechanics to solve the possible problems of the vehicle during the race.
As for the vehicle, they will once again rely on the saddle of the last edition, a 3200cc Mitsubishi Montero registered in the year 2000. They will participate in the TT1 category, reserved for 4x4 vehicles with more than 16 years.
La Maroc Challenge, Spring Edition 2017 will begin on Friday 7 of April in Motril (Granada), where the verifications will be carried out. On Saturday 8 in April the vehicles will depart by ferry to Al Hoceima, where the 2º verifications will be made, and on Sunday day 9 will start the test. Participants will tour the Moroccan desert until Friday 14 in April, when they arrive in Merzouga
