The Civil Guard of Alicante has arrested a man, a resident of Valencia, in the port of Dénia, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of drug trafficking. More than five kilograms of drugs between cocaine, crystal and marijuana have been seized for distribution on the island of Ibiza, in addition to the vehicle used. The agents continue with the investigations to locate the origin of the substances.
The actions were carried out on May 3 at around 16:00 p.m. by a patrol of the Dénia Civil Guard Prosecutor and Border Detachment that was carrying out an investigation and fiscal protection service of the embarkations and disembarkations of the ferries that arrive to the port of this town.
The agents, in one of the inspected vehicles, detected some details that made them suspicious, so they decided to make a more detailed examination of it. After finding a hidden metal box inside its trunk, they accessed it from the center armrest of the rear seats. Inside they found various packages wrapped in a sports garment.
Upon opening the packages, which were vacuum packed and impregnated with odor to avoid being discovered, the Civil Guard verified that they contained 2.190 grams of cocaine, 1.010 grams of crystal and 2.330 grams of marijuana.
Once the driver was identified, a 32-year-old man from Valencia, he was arrested on the spot, being charged with a crime against public health for drug trafficking. After verifying the documentation of the vehicle used, it was found that it was not owned by the driver, but by an acquaintance of his.
The detainee, who lacked a record for similar events, has been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court No. 3 of Dénia, who has ordered his admission to prison without bail. Both the drug found and the vehicle used have been seized and brought to justice.
Thanks to the actions of the agents of the Civil Guard of Dénia, it has been possible to avoid the consumption of the drug that would have ended up distributed throughout the island of Ibiza.
The Civil Guard does not conclude these actions, since the origin of the seized substance is being investigated.
