The Civil Guard has arrested a man for being the alleged perpetrator of a fire crime and two other serious crimes of damage, all of which occurred in Calp, in an outdoor car park.

On the morning of January 7, a fire took place in an outdoor car park, located in the Jovima complex, on Avenida Diputación, in Calp.

Apparently, someone would have thrown gasoline, intentionally, on one of the motorcycles that was parked in the parking lot, leaving it totally burned.

In addition, as a result of the spread of the flames, the fire reached other vehicles and also the cover of the parking lot itself, although, thanks to the rapid action of the agents of the Civil Guard of Calp, the Local Police of said municipality and , of course, of the firemen, who went immediately to the place, it was possible to put out the fire, thus avoiding much greater damage.

It should be noted that, both within the same parking lot and in the vicinity, there are several shops, such as a gymnasium, a supermarket and, most alarmingly, two gas stations with more than 400.000 liters of fuel in their tanks, which could have originated A real catastrophe.

The agents of the Investigation Area of ​​the Civil Guard of Calp, after several weeks of incessant procedures of investigation, of ocular inspections, of innumerable interviews with possible witnesses and, after viewing dozens of hours of security cameras in the area, could Identify the possible author.

As a result of the analysis of all that abundant material, the Civil Guard has been able to determine how the events happened: the alleged arsonist moved, minutes before committing the fire, to a self-service petrol station in Calp, where he filled a carafe with gasoline heading, then , to the parking in question. There he jumped the fence, sprayed the motorcycle with gasoline and set it on fire, quickly fleeing the place.
