The Department of Health of Denia attended 11.500 surgical interventions in 2016

The Department of Health of Denia has published its annual report corresponding to the year 2016, a document that shows the main milestones and indicators of care achieved by professionals and whose effort is rewarded with the integral improvement in health of the population assigned.

Thus 2016 performed more than 11.500 surgeries, of which 67% were of Outpatient Surgery -CMA- or surgery without hospitalization. We also provided assistance in about one thousand deliveries, performed 850.000 radiological tests, 11.800 hospital admissions and were attended almost 200.000 outpatient consultations and 57.000 ER. On the other hand, Primary Care professionals solved more than 650.000 consultations and 134.500 of Continuous Care.

Among the new care offer, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit, USMIA, specializes in mental health care for minors of the Marina Alta. In addition, during 2016 new techniques were incorporated to treat renal lithiasis, chronic tendinopathy or ambulatory hysteroscopy.

With respect to quality indicators, the Annual Report compares its results with the national average of hospitals of similar size. In the management of stays, preoperative stays, ambulatory potential, readmissions, mortality and complications, improves the average results of the compared centers. Quality is especially reflected in the commitment of our professionals to the Integral Health of patients, through different patient schools: diabetes, heart, prosthesis, back, obesity and the Active Patient Program.

Training, teaching, research and social commitment

Marina Salud works hard to provide its professionals with the necessary training for continuous improvement of their skills and the performance of their competencies. In that sense and during the 2016 exercise and within the Continuous Training Plan, more than 50.000 training hours were carried out, of which more than 6.500 students benefited.

There are also educational cooperation programs that welcome professionals and students in disciplinary practices, both in the health and non-health branches. This is the Erasmus case, with which the Department of Health of Dénia collaborates in the reception of students from different European countries. It is also affiliated to the European program for the exchange of health professionals, HOPE.

Regarding the training MIR, Internal Resident Doctor, in the health department are trained specialists in Family and Community Medicine, Anesthesiology and Reanimation, Internal Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics and midwives, EIR.

The 2016 Report details social actions with which Marina Salud is committed from its foundational foundations, reflected in our mission, vision and values. Such is the case of the United Nations Global Compact, the Tele-Assistance in Africa Project with the Recover Foundation, the Luxembourg Declaration, the Compliance Officer or its Environmental Policy, which is substantiated in a Energy Efficiency and Waste Management Plan .

Finally the commitment with the society of the Marina Alta has been reflected of constant way with the Project of Art, cuidArt, Which includes not only exhibitions and art workshops for patients, but also collaborations with other institutions and interest groups.
