The National Police station in Denia is news, and not for the achievements made by its agents. Next Thursday, 22 of June, a concentration is called to the doors of the building to demand the dismissal of the head of the police station, Antonio Cabeza, in an act promoted by the unions CEP (Spanish Confederation of Police) and UFP (Union Federal de Police).
After knowing this call, the Professional Union of Police of the Valencian Community has issued a statement of support to the chief inspector in which also they reveal the reasons for which Cabeza made decisions with respect to its agents. From the SSP they affirm that "The reason is none other than to stand firm against criminal and anti-disciplinary behaviors, which is not to the liking of the trade union organizations to which the agents criminally prosecuted for committing crimes or disciplinarily sanctioned for inadmissible conduct in any police body ".
According to the statement, "Antonio Cabeza, Chief of the Denia Police Station, with his way of acting understands that police actions that tarnish the good name of the Corporation are inadmissible: Police officers detained and accused of subtracting effects and drugs from the homes they have inspected; agents to that they are accused of beating a couple of youngsters in their nightlife and fleeing (they were recognized without any doubt by another police officer witnessing the facts); that a police officer appears with the entire shaved body surface so that no hair sample can be obtained for a drug use test; or that National Police withdraw from their obligations to citizens and lock themselves to sleep at the Police Station during the night shift leaving the streets of Denia without patrolling ... ".
In that statement, signed by the President of the SPP, José Manuel Leon, praise the work of Cabeza and affirm that "We are embarrassed by the facts presented by those who have authored a few agents, but we are also proud of the proceeding of the Chief of the Denia Police Station, who, far from looking the other way and avoiding problems, has not felt the least fear or He doubts and has decided to work to clean his Commissary of the undesirable elements that arise in every large group, but that have not been able to damage the excellent work that the absolute majority of police officers assigned to that Police Station have been developing, work endorsed by the magnificent results achieved year after year ".
The facts told have led the SSP to study the legal measures to be adopted and the possibility of exercising the popular accusation in defense of the interest of the whole police force, which in the coming days will be heard by those responsible.
