Dénia boost organic farming through courses and land banks

After the interest generated by organic farming in recent years, and seeing this interest as a possible boost and diversification of the local economy, the council of agriculture of the City of Dénia has been working on several projects to be developed in the medium term with the objective of strengthening this sector and generating new employment routes in the city.

The first fact refers to the creation of Land Banks, a proposal of the Circle Podem in Dénia that has been very well received by the City Council. At Consell Agrari The project draft will be approved, which will put unused landowners in contact with people interested in working with them. In this way, in addition to creating jobs and a local market, lands and landscapes will be recovered.

The area councilor, Josep Crespo, explained that this initiative also joins the project of Creative City of Gastronomy with the recovery of traditional crops, promoting organic farming and healthy habits.

The second action will take place is a theoretical and practical course of organic farming will begin in April and will be held on Saturdays in the morning in the Bosc de Diana. Changes in fair EcoDénia October

Finally, the councilor of Agriculture said this year will be its council to assume the management of the EcoDénia fair, held in the city during the October bridge. Although he has not wanted to advance further details, priority will be given to organic farming jobs.
