Dénia agreement signed its first international collaboration as Creative City of Gastronomy UNESCO

The municipality of Dénia has signed a collaboration agreement with Shunde Polytechnic, an institution of higher education located in the Chinese city of Shunde whose School of Tourism Management and Hospitality is one of the most prestigious in the República Popular China and has a great international projection.

Shunde is also Creative City of Gastronomy of Unesco, so the signing of this agreement represents an important support for the project that earned the distinction Dénia Unesco last December 11.

It is given the fact that the director of Shunde Polythechnic and coordinator "Creative city of Shunde"Fang Li, was visiting during the past Dénia parties Fallas to know first hand the Dianense candidacy. For this he visited numerous tourist and gastronomic resources not only in Dénia but also in the interior of the Marina Alta.

The agreement lasts for three years and whose actions will be expanded, contemplates the realization of audiovisual and educational content on gastronomy Dénia and its region. Subsequently, an online training course aimed at students of gastronomy Shunde Polythechnic with which they learn new cooking techniques from the hand of our local culinary community design.

The cooking course will be financed entirely by the Creative City Chinese with a budget of EUR 28.000. For its part, the City Council will provide Dénia technical and human resources for their production, scheduled for June and July 2016.

Unesco intended that the cities that are already part of the Creative Cities Network established collaborative links between them leading to initiatives and projects with a major international impact. Without any doubt, the draft Dénia as Creative City of Gastronomy begins to bear fruit.
