Dénia will study the conditions of occupation of public spaces during the de-escalation phases

May 02 from 2020 - 16: 37

The municipal government reported last Thursday at a meeting with AEHTMA representatives that next week the Dénia City Council will constitute a working group, made up of technicians and representatives of all municipal political groups, to study the conditions of occupation of public spaces during the de-escalation phases of the alarm state and once the new normality has been achieved.

This working group will study the proposals made by the association, taking into account that "The primary objective now is to guarantee security in the face of the pandemic", highlighted the mayor, Vicent Grimalt.

At the meeting held by telematic means, the commitment of the consistory not to charge the public highway occupancy rate (OVP) while economic activity is suspended has also been ratified.

When the premises are reopened, only the rate for the effective occupation (the tables allowed in each phase of the de-escalation) will be settled, not the authorized one, which may be higher and aid will be enabled for the payment of the OVP.

In addition, regarding another of AEHTMA's requests, the expansion of the area that the terraces can occupy in order to increase the number of tables while the distance measures continue, the City Council will begin next week to evaluate the possibilities according to each area from the city.
