25 October 2023 - 11: 21

That Dénia causes a sensation among foreign tourists is nothing new. Its weather, beaches, museum proposals and, of course, its gastronomy are an important attraction that manages to fool thousands of visitors every year. But being chosen by one of the main foreign media outlets as one of the most beautiful municipalities in all of Spain is another story. And that is what has happened, The Telegraph has selected the capital of the Marina Alta for the list they have drawn up with the most beautiful towns to visit in the entire Spanish geography.

This is a list of 20 municipalities in Spain in which there is a clear predominance of coastal places. It is headed by Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in Cádiz, a municipality that British tourists prefer according to The Telegraph, one of the most important newspapers in the United Kingdom.

Among the list is our municipality, which is also considered one of the most beautiful in all of Spain. It is in position 13 and is one of the only two Alicante municipalities that have entered the list (Altea also appears in position 7).

Dénia stands out for its gastronomy, as is to be expected being a UNESCO Creative Gastronomic City. But also its extensive coastline full of beaches. They assure that "it works very well as a tourist destination throughout the year" thanks to its pleasant climate, making special mention of its many restaurants, marinas and museums.

    I love your reviews.
If you don't like Dénia as it is, with its joys and miseries, you know what to do: Find another residence. The Mediterranean coast has countless municipalities to choose from.
    Luck.

  2. Pedro del Barrio says:

Beautiful but with dunghills on weekends around the garbage containers.
Beautiful but with the urbanizations, like Las Marinas, completely abandoned.
Beautiful but with numerous lots full of garbage and many occupied houses.
This was with the PP. and it is with PSV.
    Less look at your butt.

  3. Edu says:

Yes, it is so beautiful that buying a home here is one of the most expensive places in Spain. However, we are talking about the poorest populations.

    Is beautiful

  4. Luis says:

These types of articles are only to stimulate Tourism. It is a classic of covert advertising.

  5. Ana says:

That's because they haven't seen the streets full of garbage, and the reality that exists here, everything dismantled, trashed and decaying, to which both PSOE and Compromiso lead us.

In itself, the Montgó and the coastline are beautiful, Dénia is not.

Maybe there are those who don't know how to distinguish. Or they only see the little boats on the sea.

    • Luis says:

They only see sun, sea, little boats, cheap wine that is economically affordable for them. The rest don't care, they even expect it, they are surprised when they find something well made or well maintained, because in their classist brain they place us below them, even though we come from the lowest strata of their society.

  6. Roy says:

Not anyone who reads “The Telegraph” can read Valenciano or would have not a clue where Dénia is or care Please clean up this filthy town before you brag about a non event in a UK newspaper The council should be ashamed

    • Luis says:

What can't they read in Valencian? To begin with, they can't even do it in Spanish, they live here and they can't or want to say good morning. hahahaha..like to expect them to do it in Valenciano. For many, the two languages are the language of "the natives"

    • Jopelin says:

What does Roy say that he is lazy and doesn't want to use the translator?

  7. Pau (FR) says:

Out of pure curiosity I searched for the aforementioned article, and it is dated April 26 of this year, so it is not recent at all.
But to remember, these columnists who prepare these evaluations for any digital or printed media
They don't appear out of nowhere, nor do they do it for free.
These advertorials are paid for, I imagine with our taxes.

  8. Donkey says:

To have beaches full of algae all summer and to be sold as nature and not as a major deficiency in cleanliness is not bad.
