Dénia seeks to attract Nordic tourism at the 'Bergen Food Fair'

A representation of the Department of Tourism led Dénia Vicent Grimalt will participate in the 2 4 September to the Bergen Food Festival. The gastronomic and food fair held in the Norwegian town of Bergen is the most important in the country. In its last edition, it was visited by more than 40.000 people who enjoyed the exhibition of local and artisanal products.

In this open to all visitors are offered food festival showcookings, Cooking courses and desgustación of dishes.

Bergen is the second largest city in Norway, after the capital Oslo, with a population of 260.000 inhabitants, situated in the south-west coast of Norway. It was declared by UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy Dénia while in 2015.

Vicent Grimalt has stated that, "L'Ajuntament de Dénia, Bergen is a strategic town because it opens up a market, Norwegian, very interesting for our tourism and food companies". Grimalt added that "when we received the invitation of the City of Bergen value it as an opportunity we could not miss. Opens the door to possible commercial, cultural and institutional relationships established between both locations. We must not forget that this collaboration is the work that is being developed within the project of Dénia as Creative City of Gastronomy and relations with other cities of UNESCO are managing from the Ajuntament".

Dénia available at the fair in Bergen its own booth where visitors can taste the products and representative dishes of our cuisine. Also in the three days there will be a showcooking by chef Bati Edges Restaurante El Marino from Denia. For this reason, the Association of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of the Marina Alta (AETHMA) have been in charge of the logistics and have collaborated with the organization of this event in Bergen.

In the Norwegian adventure also accompany the delegation Dénia two producers of Marina Alta, BodegasXaló and Biomoscatell Project El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, in order to publicize the products of the Marina Alta to the world.

Meeting in Östersund

Dénia attend the 14 16 to September to meet all creative cities in the world to be held in the Swedish town of Ostersund and which are called the 116 UNESCO creative cities.

Presence of Dénia in the Jeonju Forum

In this line of moving forward in international cooperation between creative cities, Dénia will attend the Jeonju forum in South Korea at the end of October, organized by this city member of the Directorate of the Suburb of Creative Cities of Gastronomy.
