30 July 2020 - 11: 45

The City Council of Dénia today will fully approve the bases of economic aid for companies and the self-employed in the commerce, hospitality, tourism and other activities sectors in response to the situation caused by COVID-19. The bases have been agreed with the political groups of the Municipal Corporation, as well as with the representative associations of the sectors to which they are directed.

These grants are intended to contribute to the continuity of business activity of the entities and sectors mentioned above, located in the municipality of Dénia, responding to the urgent situation or of serious need caused by the decrease in their economic returns as a result of the measures implemented during the alarm state.

The budgetary credit destined to the aid, consisting of the discount in the payment of the rates of garbage collection and occupation of public roads paid by the establishments, amounts to 746.450 euros. The deadline for submitting applications through the electronic office of the city council is from September 15 to October 2, 2020.

Holders of commercial establishments, hotels, tourism and other activities located in the municipality of Dénia may benefit from these aids. The applicant person or entity must be aware of the fulfillment of their tax obligations with the City Council of Dénia, the State Agency of the Tax Administration and with the General Treasury of the Social Security. Likewise, it must not have open disciplinary proceedings due to the lack of an activity license or for occupation of the public highway without administrative authorization, among other cases.

To determine the amount of the aid, the amount to be paid in the financial year 2020 of the Urban Solid Waste rate and the rate for occupation of the public thoroughfare with tables and chairs will be taken as a reference.
