Dénia opens a census for people who want to collaborate with a possible arrival of refugees in the city

18 June 2018 - 18: 53

In the year 2015, the plenary session of the City council of Dénia agreed, by majority, that the city was declared a Cozy City. At that time the motive was the war in Syria. There were many people who came to the Social Services building to offer a room, food, clothing, or more professional services such as translation, psychology or doctors.

Now, after the arrival of more than 600 migrants rescued in Mediterranean waters, the City Council has decided to update this census in case the city received any of the people welcomed in our country. Those interested in collaborating can download the census forms from the website of the City Council from this Tuesday, or pick them up directly in the Social Services building (square Archduke Carlos).

Of course, at the moment there is no news that they are going to refer any of these people to Dénia, as reported by the Councilor for Social Services, Cristina Morera, after the meeting. But the Generalitat wants us to be prepared, and that is why the Special Commission for Aid to Refugees in the City of Dénia was held at noon.

The different NGOs in the city have shared their available resources, ranging from food or training by entities such as Caritas or Red Cross to the shelters and shelters they have arranged. Extend your hand or the Salvation Army.

Once all the resources that the city has in common, Dénia offers a home that belongs to Social Services and all the services offered by the solidarity organizations of the city, in addition to the services that can be obtained through the individuals with the new citizen collaboration census.
