The Dénia City Council has summoned, for another year, aid to cover the costs of the school canteen during the 2022/2023 academic year, as a complement to those provided by the Department of Education. The Department of Equality promotes this line of aid given the "difficulties in coordinating the work activity of families with the educational activity of their sons and daughters", affirms the councilor for the area, Melani Ivars, which means that "the dining room service and access to it are an important support for families when it comes to facilitating a better reconciliation of work, educational and family life".
Without forgetting, he adds, "the social function that the school cafeteria performs from the point of view that these aids are intended to compensate for possible family, economic and sociocultural shortcomings."
The deadline for submitting applications is from October 20 to November 3, 2022. The application model can be obtained online at the Dénia City Council electronic headquarters and in person at the Citizen Service Office (OAC), located at Plaza de la Constitución, and in the Department of Social Welfare (Plaza Archiduque Carlos, 3).
Parents or legal guardians of students who meet the following requirements may request and benefit from the aid:
- Be registered in Dénia.
- Be enrolled in the public and concerted educational centers of Dénia, Xara and Jesús Pobre, at the 2nd cycle levels of infant and primary education or at the third level of the first cycle of infant education in schools owned by the Generalitat.
- Having applied to the Ministry of Education for school canteen aid 2022/2023 and having obtained a score between 6 and 5 points in the scale.
Each family will use a single application for all the sons and daughters enrolled in school, although the aid will be granted, where appropriate, individually for each of the students.
The subsidized months are from September 2022 to June 2023, both inclusive.
