The House of the Paraula de Baleària Port hosted yesterday a conference in which the professor of electronic engineering, Emilio Soria, and the professor of Ethics, Domingo García-Marzá, spoke as speakers to discuss the use of the Big Data in the company and artificial intelligence, as well as the management of emotions in companies.
The symposium is part of a program of the Ministry of Economy and Business to guarantee technology transfer to companies, and was attended by Ricardo Climent, General Director of Finance of Baleària and Josep Vicent Mascarell, director of the People, Social Responsibility and Reputation Area of the shipping company, as well as Adela Cortina and Pedro Jesús Pérez Zafrilla, of the Universitat de València, among others.
In the debate that opened after his speech, led by Daniel Pallarés-Domínguez, of the Jaume I University, the danger of "instrumentalizing" the emotions of the employees was addressed. In this sense, Josep Vicent Mascarell, director of the Area of People, Social Responsibility and Reputation of Baleària, pointed to the importance of the principle of delegation in companies. "This enables leadership and dignifies the person without instrumentalizing it", concrete.
