Dénia Red Cross recently signed a collaboration agreement with the Marina Health Hospital whereby children admitted to the center will receive support and entertainment during their hospital stay.
The Hospitalized Child Care program is designed, mainly, for children to live the experience of being admitted in a more bearable way. Hospital admission is one of the most uncomfortable situations that a child can live, as it brings a break with his social environment, his family, his classmates, the neighborhood ... in addition to the discomfort that the disease entails .
Thanks to the Red Cross volunteers, the children will see their stay in a more bearable way through games, book readings, children's entertainment or a simple accompaniment. In addition, the program serves to give a break to the family members, who during that time can leave the room to make arrangements, thus favoring the family environment of the child.
Marina Health team greatly appreciates the work of Red Cross volunteers in this area. Amparo Exojo, supervisor of Maternal and Child Hospital Area district recognizes that "It is a very interesting and positive activity, because when children are entertained, time passes faster for them and their mood is strengthened, at least during the time they are happier".
