The Provincial Court of Alicante has sentenced to more than five years of prison a man who tried to stab his wife in his house in Denia in front of his children. The events happened 3 of February of 2016 in the afternoon, when the accused began to attack his wife while shouting to him "I'm going to kill you today, what I have in mind is going to do today, I'm going to kill you because you're with another one".
The woman and her three children, who were in the house at the time, got her to leave the house and called the police. However, hours later, the husband returned to the house and seized a kitchen knife with which he tried to stab his wife. Fortunately, the neighbors and one of the couple's daughters intervened and prevented the aggressor from achieving his purpose. The man fled, and was arrested hours later. The 5 of February entered in prison until the celebration of the trial.
The defendant accepted the sentence of five years after the agreement reached in the Provincial Court of Alicante between the Prosecutor, the private accusation, and the defense. The defendant admitted the facts before the court and will be sentenced to five years in prison for attempted murder and nine months for ill-treatment in the family.
