Curbing doomed to an intense summer program for its users

A year with the arrival of summer, Condemned to Curb launches its summer project which will benefit about thirty users and their families.

Enjoying the Summer 2016 is aimed at the group of people with disabilities who seek to have fun in a different environment than usual and without any discrimination or barrier. The main objective is to offer different services to the group of people with disabilities in the summer months, since there is a clear demand and need for both users and family, in fact all the places are already complete and with a demand that from the association can not attend.

The project involves 30 people with different types of disabilities from different areas of the high navy and in order to offer a good service, it has been divided into three well-differentiated parts: on the one hand, group work, in which a group of users will work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Llunàtics facilities from 9 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. , where different types of activities will be carried out. In the afternoons, a bathroom service will be offered for users who use wheelchairs with the help of amphibious vehicles in the beaches of Denia. These activities seek to promote the personal autonomy of the participants while giving a little respite to the parents who take care of them 24 hours a day.

During the summer continues individualized care service aimed at users with severe disabilities, service provided throughout the year and during the summer season is used for other activities.

Program activities 2016 enjoying the summer camps are completed with two, three and four days respectively in the hostel La Marina Moraira for large groups with more autonomy, as well as point to very small groups with very limited capabilities respites. In order to make the project has hired seven people, two of them with disabilities, who have been working with users. In addition it has the support of a considerabe number of volunteers and the participation of the City of Denia, Marques de dos Aguas and Entraid Foundation.
