The D * NA Gastronomic Festival Dénia starts, the event that will turn the Marineta into the walk of the stars (Michelin)

The day has arrived. Today starts, in the walk of the Marineta Cassiana, At the festival Gastronomic Dénia, the gastronomic event that will bring together in Dénia during this weekend fifty chefs from all over the world and that will turn the capital of the Marina Alta in the world capital of gastronomy.

This event, the largest to date since Denia was declared a Creative City of Gastronomy, has the chef Quique Dacosta as gastronomic commissary and the support of the Valencian Tourism Agency, which has invested 190.000 euros in its implementation. There have also been many companies that, privately, have wanted to collaborate in making this event even bigger.

During this week the Marineta has been transformed into a walk with its own life, with booths to one side and a long table, 400 meters, overlooking the sea. All this to gather in a few meters the pure essence of Mediterranean life through a way of living and feeling.

The 15 participating restaurants have prepared a thousand tapas each for each day, which visitors will be able to purchase 2, 3 and 4 euros, and taste at the table installed in front of the sea. For its part, the nearly thirty local producers that will participate will offer their merchandise along the walk.

And all this will be splashed with the interventions of local, national and international chefs participating in this edition and whose program of interventions can be consulted here.

Among them is the participation of the chefs of the 16 Creative Cities of Gastronomy of UNESCO who during these days participate in the meeting of Creative Cities organized by the Ajuntament of Dénia coinciding with the celebration of the D * na.

Institutional representatives, technicians, entrepreneurs and restaurateurs from the cities of Zahlé (Lebanon), Shunde and Chengdu (China), Jeonju (Korea), Belém and Florianópolis (Brazil), Tucson (USA), Rasht (Iran), Gaziantep , Östersund (Sweden), Ensenada (Mexico), Bergen (Norway), Parma (Italy), Phuket (Thailand), Tsuruoka (Japan), Popayan (Colombia) and Macao, the latter as a guest territory aspiring to join the Network of Creative Cities were received Friday by the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, The deputy mayor, Rafa Carrió, The president of AEHTMA, Cristina Sellés, The Councilor of Creative City, Pepa Font, the Director of the Dénia Convention Center, Pepe Vidal, and the gastronomic commissioner of the D * na Festival, chef Quique Dacosta.

    Overflowed! Impossible to access anything! At least on Saturday morning a mass of visitors crowded the space, making it impossible to order or have any tapas or drinks. Of course, if they count it by assistants…. they will always say that it has been a success but their satisfaction ... that's another thing! Calculation and forecast failure !!
