Announcement of the start of TRAM tramway work between Diana and Metge Manuel Vallalta streets by the end of the year

The Minister of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory, María José Salvador has announced this Tuesday in Dénia that the second phase of TRAM tramway work between Diana and Metge Manuel Vallalta streets will begin at the end of the year.

In this second phase, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat will extend the tramway of the 9 Line of the TRAM in the city of Dénia from the roundabout of Diana Street to the level crossing of Metge Manuel Vallalta Street. This action is included in the works for the renovation and upgrading of the track and infrastructure of the Gata-Dénia section, budgeted at 2,5 million euros, whose project is in the drafting stage.

This announcement was made during the visit to the completion of the works of the first phase, which have included from the train station to Diana Street.

This first phase that has already been completed has been executed with a budget of 2 million euros and has consisted of the tramway of the 400 meters of track that run along the Joan Fuster avenue from the old crossing at Diana Street level to the entrance to the station and the urban integration of the infrastructure with the existing road by eliminating the 2 meters wall that constituted an architectural barrier that divided the city in two.

Likewise, refurbishment works have been carried out on the FGV station for its future tramization, in which the three have been adapted beaches of tracks, the platforms have been lowered to adapt them to the new machines and work has been done on the building by improving the waterproofing of roofs, the cladding of carpentry, cleaning of facades and painting on the metal structure.

Salvador has been accompanied by the mayor of the city, Vicent Grimalt, The deputy mayor, Rafa Carrió, the manager of Ferrocarrils of the Generalitat Valenciana, Andrés Sánchez Jordán, the councilor for Territory and Urban Quality, Maria Josep Ripoll, and representatives of other municipalities of the Marina Alta.
