Goodbye to garbage collection in private containers: the coast of Dénia will have new batteries of containers

11 March 2024 - 13: 03

Next Monday and Tuesday, March 11 and 12, an important modification will be carried out in the waste collection system in the area of Marines. This initiative contemplates the installation or relocation of complete selective collection batteries at kilometer 1 of Les Marines, as part of the progressive implementation of the new bilateral discharge containers.

These new containers, adapted to collection vehicles and with greater capacity, are part of a plan to renew the waste collection system in the area. As a result of this update, the company in charge of collection will stop providing service in private containers located in privately owned spaces, such as housing estates and companies.

People residing in urbanizations must use the batteries closest to their homes. At kilometer 1 of Les Marines, the second point of implementation of the new system after Les Deveses, a total of 20 batteries have been arranged to facilitate the correct disposal of waste.

The Councilor for Ecological Transition, Sandra Gertrúdix, has highlighted that this change seeks to improve selective collection in the dispersed area, where previously all types of waste were deposited without separation. Likewise, Gertrúdix emphasized the importance of citizen collaboration in this transition process, since the cleaning service will operate only on public roads, and the new containers and trucks have greater storage capacity.

This change will be applied progressively throughout the entire Les Marines area, representing, according to the City Council, a significant improvement in terms of efficiency and sustainability in waste management.

I hope you also remember to relocate, in the correct place, the battery of containers that were moved, provisionally, on Cami Merle while the Santa Lucía roundabout was being built.
