Hugs that move worlds: the campaign in favor of victims of gender violence

November 25 from 2022 - 13: 27
  • The Dénia Sports Center has joined Aqualia's campaign against this social scourge.
  • The hugs will be transformed into economic support for the development of job training and orientation camps organized by the Adecco Foundation and aimed at victims of gender violence.

El Centro Deportivo Dénia has joined, one more year, the Aqualia's campaign against Gender Violence around the site aqualiacontigo.com. On this occasion, and under the slogan "Hugs that move worlds", she invites us to combat this scourge through hugs, affection and solidarity.

The company encourages everyone to participate by uploading photos or videos of their hugs to the web and sharing the gesture on social networks with the hashtag #aqualiaContigo. How to participate? You only have to access aqualiacontigo.com. Upon entering, the user can see both "The challenge", as well as the counter and the "I want to join" button to participate. The photos uploaded by the participants will appear on the web and can be shared on social networks to show their adherence to the message and the campaign.

El Centro Deportivo Dénia has installed billboards and roll ups to encourage users
to join the initiative. In addition, for this purpose, a Dance class and, both in the room and in the water activities, users and workers have been encouraged to hug each other and upload their photos to the campaign website.

Victim support

Each hug added to the campaign will become financial support that Aqualia will contribute to the development of a support program for victims of gender violence. Specifically, Aqualia will finance one of the Adecco Foundation projects destined for employment or training camps aimed at those who suffer from this social scourge. Last year, thanks to this campaign, Aqualia contributed to the training of 25 women in a job training and guidance workshop. As can be seen in the attached video, the workshop was focused on unemployed women with the sole responsibility of caring for their children and in a serious situation of vulnerability. Aqualia gave a training session on water management.

Committed to SDG 5

The development of these actions is part of Aqualia's commitment to gender equality as a necessary basis to achieve a peaceful and sustainable world as defended by the United Nations SDG 5.

La violence against women continues to be an obstacle to achieving equality, development and peace, as well as respect for the human rights of women and
girls. The promise of the Sustainable Development Goals of leaving no one behind cannot be met without ending violence against women and girls.

This action is part of the activities that Aqualia has been carrying out as a company with the distinctive "Equality in the Company" granted by the Ministry of Health, Social Affairs and Equality.
