The Aqualia company has awarded five finalists from Dénia as finalists in their Digital Children's Contest organized on the occasion of World Water Day. The works presented by the young students have been among the best of the XV edition of this contest in which more than 8.500 children from Spain and Portugal participated.
The winners, who received an underwater camera as a prize, were Lena Llobell Andrades, from CEIP Montgó; Andres Lopez Vicens, of the school Paidos; Shaila Lucas Montaner, from La Xara school; Igor Marcilla Fullana, from the Maristas school and Pepe Masanet Escuder, from the Pou de la Muntanya.
The head of the Municipal Water Service, Isidro Sánchez, explained that «la intención era conseguir que los niños, a través de su creatividad, pudieran conocer el recorrido que sigue el agua desde que es usada en nuestros hogares hasta que se devuelve al medioambiente una vez depurada y cómo las aguas residuales se pueden reutilizar para diversos usos, creando su propio planeta sostenible».
For the councilor of education, Rafa Carrió, «hacer llegar estos valores a través del dibujo y las nuevas tecnologías es una buena manera de hacerlo». In the delivery of the awards, held at the City of Dénia, was also present the councilor for Environment, Josep Crespo.
