There is already a date for the Dénia International Red Prawn Creative Cooking Contest

The twelfth edition of the Dénia Red Prawn International Creative Cooking Contest already has a date. The competition, organized by the Association of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of the Marina Alta (AEHTMA) and in collaboration with the Dénia City Council, wants to be on the agenda of all those professional chefs who have links with a hospitality company or a gastronomy training center and want to participate.

It will be on Tuesday, April 9, when the Dénia Municipal Market gets ready for a new edition of this renowned event. To participate, it will be essential to register from February 11 to March 11, 2024, by filling out the online form available at the official website of the contest and showing what the culinary proposal will be.

Once registration is closed, the first jury of gastronomic professionals and critics will be in charge of choosing the eight finalists for this edition, whose names will be revealed on the event's website on March 14 at 20:00. They will be the ones who, in the final on April 9, demonstrate their skills in the kitchen live and present their dishes in the twelfth edition of the contest under the criteria of
creativity and good work with the star raw material of the contest, the red shrimp from Dénia.

After the cooking, comes the tasting, in which the jury - made up of culinary experts, chefs and food critics - will be responsible for
evaluate the presentation, taste and presence of the red shrimp in each of the finalist recipes, to finally choose the winners of the contest. The winners will receive a prize of €2.500 for the first, €1.500 for the second, and €1.000 for the third, along with a commemorative sculpture by Toni Marí.
