El Real Club Nautico Denia celebrates the XXIII Canal Cup from 4 to October 6. The Dianense club recovers the tradition of its beginnings, make one year the route Dénia - San Antonio (Ibiza) and the following year San Antonio - Dénia. The RCND has the collaboration of the San Antonio Yacht Club 'Es Náutic', which will host in this edition, the start of the race.
The table was formed by Jaime Portolés, President of the Real Club Náutico Dénia, Amaya Sáez, Manager of the RCND, Energetic Carrasco, Head of Sports and Raúl David García de la Reina, Councilor for Sports of the City of Dénia.
Jaime Portolés, remembered the history of this regatta “The Copa del Canal is one of the most representative regattas for the city of Dénia, since it has been created from underwater archaeological finds that demonstrated trade between the Pitiusas Islands and Dénia”.
The President of the club also wanted to thank the collaboration and support of the Department of Sports and highlighted the role of both entities to support the realization of sport among youth.
Energetic Carrasco explained that “This edition of the Copa del Canal is autonomous, that is, scoring for the ORC Autonomous Circuit. On Friday 4 of October will take place the meeting of employers in San Antonio. The departure will take place on Saturday at 11 in the morning and it is estimated that the vessels will start arriving at the RCND from 19 hours, depending on the weather conditions. On Sunday, trophies and food will be delivered to participants in the RCND classrooms. The approximate participation expected is between 20 and 25 vessels ”.
Raúl García de la Reina has thanked the Dianense club for “To host our nautical sports schools, the use we make of the pool and to organize so many events, both sporting and cultural, that are an ideal and magnificent complement to the cultural programming that the City Council has”.
