UNED Dénia presents its coeducational research project at the II international congress on innovation and educational trends

15 July 2021 - 11: 38

This project is being carried out since the 2016/2017 school year in the classrooms of different educational centers of the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa and arises to respond precisely to the needs of girls and boys in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education related to the acquisition of sexist gender roles and discriminatory attitudes.

For this, the “Coe and Duca” teaching tool has been designed, composed of materials, dynamics and techniques, adapted to the characteristics, needs and age of the students. Through it, the students analyze, reflect, and become aware of equality with the main objective of preventing and avoiding the appearance or reproduction of sexist and discriminatory behaviors from an early age.

The results obtained from the study indicate that "Coe and Duca" promote co-education in the classroom from an early age and that the instruments used serve to educate girls and boys on equality. "Coe and Duca" expose the sexist and discriminatory behaviors that continue to be reproduced in the classroom and that therefore must continue to be worked on.

The presentation of the study is available at the INNTED 2021 Symposium on Coeducation and Violence Prevention
