Some free days come near the bird world around us to the public

Do we know really aand environment? We know, for example, how many protected areas exist around us? and how many kinds of birds around us? These are just some of the questions to be resolved in about information days which organized the Department of Environment of the City of Denia in collaboration with local company Magic & Nature to raise awareness and publicize the important role of bird species that populate our natural environment.

World Day of migratory birds

The conference, totally free, next weekend 7 and 8 May will be held to coincide with the celebration of World Migratory Bird (second weekend of May) and the International Bird Day (9 May ), and were divided into four environmental outputs.

The first departure will take place Saturday May 7 bound the Marjal Pego-Oliva-Denia. Of 9: 30 to 13: 30 hours, participants will attend a session Bird Banding with experienced ornithologists Joan Sala and Toni Zaragozí, to be followed by a guided tour of interpretation by different types of habitats that make up the park focusing on birds. The route will end at the site of the Font Salada.

El Sunday May 8 the activities will take place on the coast of Dénia. In the morning from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m., there will be an interpretation route on foot to observe the seabirds of the area, you will visit the cetacean and avifauna observatory located at the end of Les Rotes, and it will go up to Torre del Gerro, where the problem of forest fires in the Montgó Natural Park and the regeneration of space. Finally, a picnic will be offered to the attendees.

Afternoon has scheduled a catamaran out to the reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni where you can observe the birds that nest on the cliffs and migratory crossing the area. The tour is expected to 18 21 hours and includes a snack on board. Departure will be from the port of Dénia.

Day for nature tourism professionals

These informative sessions will be completed with a day dedicated to professionals and nature tourism companies to be held Monday May 9. councilman Josep Crespo and the coordinator of the Marine Environmental Service, Antonio Martínez, explained that the aim is to inform the natural richness of the marine reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni, especially in relation to seabird population sector.

During the day, members of Grup Xaloc, director of the Natural Park Saler and Joan Sala, president of the governing board of the Natural Park Montgó and an expert ornithologist, will offer lectures on the types of species that inhabit the reserve, how to get this offer customers and what audiences can handle. Afternoon output catamaran interpretation area is performed.
