This weekend we lived the litmus test for the new summer season. Not only was it the first without a state of alarm and with a large influx of visitors due to the fall of the perimeter fence, but, in addition, the weather prompted us to approach the beach and spend some most summer days.
Up to 35 degrees could be felt in Dénia during Sunday on the hottest day of what we have been this year. A temperature similar to the worst highs recorded during the months of July and August. This motivated that, trying to alleviate the scorching thermal sensation, many residents fled to the beach to enjoy a dip or to take advantage of that sun in order to start recovering the tan lost during the winter.
There they could meet the first visitors that Dénia has received since the end of 2020, when the perimeter closure was decreed. Between them they showed an image very similar to that of summer, with the beaches full but not overcrowded, and with the streets and terraces full of life.
Unfortunately there are no bathrooms on the beach!
