A sculpture will pay tribute to the National Police of Dénia for its bicentennial

19 2024 April - 11: 25

Within the framework of the bicentennial celebrations, the National Police is proud to announce the upcoming inauguration of a commemorative sculpture in Dénia. This work, financed by a group of 50 local businessmen, pays tribute to the officials who, for two centuries, have ensured citizen security.

The sculpture will be strategically located in the port area, next to the parking entrance and in the vicinity of the National Police Station in Dénia. This location, frequented by neighbors and visitors, guarantees its visibility and access. The entity wanted to highlight the collaboration of the commissioner of the Generalitat in the port, Pepa Font, and its president, who have provided all the facilities for said location.

Last Wednesday, during a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce attended by the head of the National Police Station in Dénia, Carlos Nieto, who deeply appreciated the initiative, the sketch of the sculpture was presented. The commemorative anagram of the bicentennial, sculpted in Macael marble, will crown the work of 2.75 meters high and 2 meters wide base, complemented with bluish granite.

The sculptor who will carry out the work is José Marí Colom, who will capture in this monument the history and commitment of the National Police.

"The National Police is proud and greatly appreciates the business initiative and the good reception of civil society in Dénia," they have declared from the entity.
