The Ministry of Health has notified the appearance of new coronavirus outbreaks throughout the Valencian Community. Among them, Dénia again registers a new case that has left a dozen infections in the town.
It is a new outbreak detected in one of the educational centers in Dénia, this time causing ten infections. An outbreak is considered when the same positive reaches a minimum of two other individuals. On this occasion, we are talking about the fact that it has spread, affecting 10 people as established after the Public Health tracing efforts.
It is unknown when these infections took place since at the moment the schools and institutes are in vacation period.
Coronavirus in the Valencian Community
The Valencian Community has registered 1.691 new cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR test or through antigen test since the last update on Saturday, December 26, which places the total number of positives at 139.167 people.
By province, the distribution of new positives is the following: 142 in Castellón (15.092 in total), 596 in Alicante (45.980 in total) and 953 in the province of Valencia (77.130 in total). In addition, 13 cases have been reassigned, so that 2 cases remain unassigned.
On the other hand, since the last update of the discharges on December 23, 6.214 discharges to patients with coronavirus have been registered. In this way, there are already 130.866 people in the Valencian Community who have overcome the disease since the pandemic began. By province, registrations are distributed as follows: 14.534 in Castellón, 43.815 in Alicante and 72.456 in Valencia. In addition, there are 61 unassigned discharges.
Thus, there are currently 17.116 active cases, which represents 11,35% of the total positives.
Valencian hospitals currently have 1.725 people admitted: 154 in the province of Castellón, with 19 patients in ICU; 489 in the province of Alicante, 104 of them in the ICU; and 1.082 in the province of Valencia, 143 of them in the ICU.
On the other hand, there have been 43 deaths from coronavirus since the last update on Wednesday, December 23, so the total number of deaths is 2.835 people: 368 in the province of Castellón, 994 in Alicante and 1.473 in the province of From Valencia.
The total number of tests carried out for the detection of the coronavirus amounts to 2.036.891, of which 1.867.700 have been through PCR and 169.191, through rapid test.
Updating the situation in residences
According to the data updated this Monday, there are some positive cases in 99 nursing homes for the elderly (6 in the province of Castellón, 32 in the province of Alicante and 61 in the province of Valencia), 16 centers of functional diversity (3 in the province of Castellón, 4 in the province of Alicante and 9 in the province of Valencia) and 6 centers for minors (1 in the province of Castellón, 1 in the province of Alicante and 4 in the province of Valencia).

Currently, 28 residences in the Valencian Community are under active surveillance of health control: 2 in the province of Castellón, 12 in the province of Alicante and 14 in the province of Valencia.
