El Portal de la Marina Shopping Center, owned by Lar España Real Estate Socimi and managed by Grupo Lar through Gentalia, has achieved its Solidarity Kilometers challenge for the third consecutive year. An action that was intended to reach 40.000 kilometers to decorate the ceiling of the Emergency Observation Room of the Dénia Hospital.
Portal de la Marina, in collaboration with Decathlon Ondara and the Marina Salud Hospital, has once again promoted this initiative, in which each participant recorded their kilometers traveled within the Strava application in the "Solidarity Kilometers" challenge with the aim of achieving 40.000 kilometres. The objective, the financing by the shopping centre, of financing the costs derived from paint the ceiling of the Emergency Observation Room of the Dénia Hospital. To reward the solidarity of the participants, Portal de la Marina and Decathlon raffled off gift cards for the winners to redeem at their facilities.
This solidarity challenge is added to the two previous challenges of the solidarity kilometers initiative. The first that was launched in 2020 to paint a planetarium in the children's area of the Dénia Hospital and the second carried out in 2021, to decorate and humanize the mental health area of the Denia Hospital.
From Portal de la Marina we want to thank all the residents of the Marina Alta for their participation and we are very happy with the participation obtained. In the words of Virginia Carrasco, director of the shopping center: “We are very proud that for the third consecutive year we have been able to once again overcome this very humanitarian challenge. We are aware that it was not easy to do, but thanks to motivation and teamwork we can achieve this challenge and all the ones we set out to do”.
