First plenary session of the new Dénia City Council tensed by the released and eventual staff

23 June 2023 - 11: 21

This Friday the first plenary session with the new corporation was held in the Dénia City Hall, and there was expectation for how it would develop because for the first time all the councilors would occupy the seats that will belong to them, if nothing strange happens, the next four years. At the table that presides over the room, as expected, will be the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, together with Maria Josep Ripoll y Paco Roselló, and Rafa Carrió y María José García by Compromís. The benches are distributed in one formed by the third councilor of Compromís, the rest of PSPV y mario vidal, Gent of Dénia, which he repeats in the same seat. Opposite them is the other, fully occupied by the seven councilors of the PP and that of Vox.

Among the points of the day, the proposal for released councilors stood out, which this time increases to nine. Paco Roselló, Councilor for the Treasury, has defended that salaries have remained as they were, being in ranges consistent with what is stipulated for populations of 20.000 inhabitants despite the fact that Dénia is twice as large. However, the entire opposition has rebuked this aforementioned increase in those released, since only Rafa Carrió, Pepe Doménech y Marta Gasco will not have that exclusivity, while Roselló himself will have it at 80% and Valen Alcala al 50%.

Mario Vidal has indicated that it is an increase in spending that does not go hand in hand with an improvement in a service that was already being carried out without a problem with fewer released. On behalf of the People's Party, Pepa Font He has considered a "nonsense" that Dénia needs nine released: "There are skills that are compatible with the development of work." Félix Redondo (Vox), for his part, has proposed reducing full-time councilors to four and a 20% reduction in salaries "to set an example."

To these complaints have been added those related to temporary personnel, which will be made up of seven people, all of them for the government and its delegations. The PP has been very upset with this decision because it leaves the rest of the formations without personnel. "Never has a government left the opposition without a secretary," said Font. Gent de Dénia has also been uncomfortable with the decision despite the fact that an eventual position corresponds to his sewerage delegation, since his spokesperson assures that leaving others without personnel creates a dangerous precedent.

All these proposals, however, have been approved by a majority thanks to the votes of PSPV and Compromís.

The PP questions the legality of telematic commissions

They have not been the only clashes in this first session. The PP has also criticized the decision to carry out the information commissions electronically, as had been done for some time and had been approved in the previous legislature. Pepa Font has said that it makes no sense not to do them face to face if there is no longer a pandemic and has demanded that, if they continue to be telematics, the City Council take charge of paying for the necessary material for the houses of all the councilors, to which Vicent Grimalt has flatly refused.

The mayor has ensured that this decision was made to facilitate family reconciliation and work for those people who have to continue working outside the City Council, avoiding that they have to go to the town hall to do so and can connect in a moment from a telephone mobile or computer.

For Font, however, this means that they are denied the means to work from home and he has assured that they are going to appeal it. "We'll see if it's legal."

Well, more of the same, Nescafé four more years, for people without a job, and many of them functionally illiterate.
    Depressing outlook.
In short, to continue enjoying what was voted, but that is in an ecological, progressive and gender perspective way. It is what it is.

  2. system just ya says:

I was afraid of it, whether or not the party he belongs to likes it; Felix Redondo, representative of VOX, has been the only one who has said something common sense that would directly benefit the citizenry, and would go in favor of taking away a little power from those who covet it and raise their salaries. The only one who has raised the idea of lowering wages to set an example. As long as politics is lucrative, we will all lose out. Those amounts of money that the councilors charge, instead of motivating, are overwhelmed, on top of that there are some who allow themselves not to attend 100% of their responsibilities. This system is a joke. They know it and they encrust themselves in it.

Vox common sense! don't make us laugh Cry, I hope that the people of Denia vote for the PSOE if the PP arrives at Moncloa they will do everything so that Denia does not prosper, we do not return to the last century and continue conquering rights

Pepa Font is already scratching to see what she gets. She wants a new computer.

    • Rudolf says:

      did you read correctly?
I think she is not, on the contrary, she is saying that the plenary sessions should be in person, not as those who call themselves progressives want, who, in addition to getting paid, want to work from home, without even making an appearance.

The Mayor has said that he does not need a computer.
With a notebook and a bic pen, he has plenty to write down how slow the works are.
He says calm down, that the Marqués del Campo and the Glorieta thing promises that it will be solved by the next elections

And this is only the beginning
We'll see how far they can go this time.

  5. Rudolf says:

    Long live progress and Valencianism!

    First goal achieved!
Reach in the box securing your playpen, no need to work, for 4 years with taxpayer money with unnecessary fees.

GD can now shut up, he already has his sewage commissions, not having supported Grimalt and his puppet Carrió.

A shame and another deception to their voters.

    That's how it goes
